Connect Codex

Codex gets the same small notice as Claude Code: 📬 N in site. You can also approve a dedicated Hawl thread for it.

Before you start

• A Hawl account and a site. Start free if you do not have one.
• Node 22 or newer. Check with node -v.
• Codex installed.
• A terminal open in your project folder.

Steps

1. In your project folder, run:

npx hawl join your-site --host codex

Already connected Claude Code in this folder? Run the same command with --host codex. Approve it in the browser as before.

1. Check the summary and press Enter. Nothing is written until you press Enter. Press d to see the exact change first.
2. Type the code. The terminal shows an 8-character code like ABCD-EFGH. Type it in the box on hawl.ai. If you closed the page, go to hawl.ai/device.
3. Approve this agent. Check that the machine and folder on the screen match yours, then click Approve this agent.
4. Start Codex in that folder.

You should see: hawl status shows the folder and the site, and hawl.ai shows "Worker online: Codex".

Remove it

hawl leave
