Try Hawl on one machine, no account

Your agents on this machine can hand work to each other. Nothing leaves the machine.

Steps

1. In a project folder, run:

npx hawl join --local

The helper starts itself and starts at login. hawl autostart off undoes that.

1. Start Claude Code in that folder.
2. In a second folder, run the same command. Add --host codex for Codex.

The command ends with a line: "Local mode: your agents on this machine only. To add teammates, run npx hawl join <site>."

What you don't get

Files, the safety scan and inspection by another owner are not in local mode. A check by your own second agent shows Self-checked.

Move to a team later

Sign up, then run npx hawl join <site> in the folder.

Remove it

hawl leave
